So I checked my credit score recently on experien and I have 2 accounts saying I owe money. It s not much, about 300 on one and 2 on the other. But they both say closed on the accounts. Should I dispute these charges or pay them off. These are the only th

Answers:

pay them off

You should not dispute them. If you dispute them and they are both removed from your credit report, then you will have nothing on your credit report, because is basically suicide with respect to your chances of getting good credit. As long as you keep something on your credit report, no matter how bad it is, you can improve your credit. But if you get everything off your credit report, and are left with nothing on it, then you cannot get credit, now or in the future, because you won't be approved for credit with nothing on your credit report, and you won't be able to get something on your credit report without being approved for credit.

If you are absolutely certain that you can pay them without talking to the collection agency on the phone and without having them removed from your credit, then you may wish to pay them.

If you would have to talk to the collection agency on the phone to pay them, then do not pay them. Talking to a collection agency on the phone is never a good idea.

If you cannot do anything without talking to a collection agency on the phone, then do nothing.

You can always dispute it but if they respond it will stay on the reports. If it's close to 7 years, it will fall off the reports.

they are "closed" as far as the credit card company is concerned because - most likely - they are old balances ( like 7 years or so ) not paid..............they may have gone to a collection agency who may (??) send you letters and maybe (?? ) file a small claims case against you..........you can't do anything w/them for the CC company, as they no longer have the accounts.......all you can do now is wait for the letters from the coll. agny, and pay them if you want.............BUT if you do pay them, then you need to write ( NO phone calls ) to the CC and let them know they have been paid, then they should remove the items from your credit; the CC company will NOT remove them w/o you telling them to do so

Try actually asking local educated adults for actual info locally as it varies greatly depending on where you live simple
