I bought the car alittle over a month ago brand new and its almost got 3,000 miles on it, I was wondering when should I take it to get its first oil change? at 3,000 or 5,000 miles?
Thanks!!

Answers:

Read the owners manual.

All you need to do is look in your owner's manual if you want to know the service intervals and required maintenance. The Accent is an entry level car, so you should baby it if you want it to last more than 5 years.

Are you sure this isn't a troll question? Who puts 3,000 miles per month on their car? I deliver pizzas and I average less than half that.

I'd change the oil and filter very 3,000 miles if you want that motor to last!!

The recommended oil change intervals for most of the modern vehicles is around 3-5K. Personally, I would change the oil at every 5K on a brand new car. Make sure to check your owner's manual for any info on breaking in a new car as well, you may find some helpful tips there.

Hi so what does the handbook recommend or you might like to contact the dealer who sold it to you.

Hyundai will have specified the oil change/preventative maintenance service intervals for the car in the area of the world you are in (no on here can see where in the world you are). In some markets this will be 12000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. In some the mileage limit will be less. REFER TO YOUR OWNERS MANUAL/SERVICE RECORD.

5k

If you had read the owners manual, which you clearly haven't, you'd know that neither of those choices is correct according to manufacturers specs

It's most certainly equipped with a notification system which lets you know when service is needed.

New cars come with a manual, ya know?
