I am the only living parent of my 20 month old. I am not comfortable with the deceased parents' family...the grandparents of my child. They have always been a problem in my life and now they said they have rights to their grand child. I feel like m

Answers:

You are nothing but a BOYFRIEND and as such her parents might even have the right to file for custody and WIN. How many damn ways will you ask this question!

Read the damn link I left you and you will see they have every right, in California. to visitation rights!

i would, if you were a grandparent you would want to visit your grandkids so i would do unto others unless theres a good reason why they shouldnt be visiting

I made an error...the plural parent part.....My son's mother has passed away and her family is driving me nuts. I love raising my son and have support from my family. Her family said that they have rights to see him.

No. There is no such thing as grandparents' rights. Now I'm concerned. You are not comfortable with the deceased parents' (plural parent plus possessive) family. Both of the parents are dead? I thought you were the mother of the child?

Anyway, after you figure out who you and they are, there are no grandparents' laws UNLESS they go to Court for custody and allege you are unfit and win.

You certainly are confused about who is dead and who is not - as well as who you are.

“Does anyone know about Grandparents rights in California? How often are the visits? My son has a 18 month old and his girlfriend passed away. If they file for grandparent rights, how does that work?” https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20170731210048AARFIgc
