What is the pattern between these dates?

and why can't the pattern continue after Jun 5?

Answers:

I posted your figures at the range fitted with 4x4 foot
corrugated paper stapled to a 5 foot 4x4 inch post.
At 25 feet while standing using Savage Model 24F
I found a Federal 3-ball 20 gauge kill spread upon
DEC and MAR. Repeated discharge did not vary
the pattern. This was open iron aim and not scoped
for Turkey.

Every example jumps forward by three months and drops back by six days from the previous example. If you do that from June 5 you get September -1, which does not exist.

Little bit of a flaw with this logic problem. The pattern is three months forward, six days backward. The flaw is that the pattern doesn't stop with June 5th. You can go three months forward - to September 5th. But who is to say that you cannot go back into August when you count backward six days? Nothing in the question says that you can't.

So, the next date in the pattern is August 31st. Three MONTHS forward would be to November 31st, which does not exist. You then have the argument over, do you simply move back to the 30th, because by going from the last day to the last day, that IS three months, and then count back to the 24th, and then keep going? Or do you argue that the pattern ends with August 31st?

A case can be made for both. It wasn't the best logic problem. This is a calendar. A calendar is not a good way to make a point about negative numbers.

The pattern is that each one is 3 months minus 6 days after the previous one.

I'm guessing that the pattern is supposed to stop because you can't subtract 6 days from the 5th, but in reality that would just make it the last day of the previous month and the next in the pattern would be Aug 31. It's like saying you can't go back 2 hours from 1 AM because the clock stops at midnight instead of just going back to 11 PM.

subtract the month by the day to get the next number. 6 - 5 is negative 1, so stops the sequence. Awesome logic question.

I nut 13 times on those days

if you subtract 6 from 5 you get a negative number and no day of the month has a negative number
