I am not a heavy drinker in the sense I drink everyday. I usually heavy drink 2 days on the weekend. Last weekend I drank about 50 units of alcohol within 2 days. I don't usually drink quite as much as that every weekend but none the less I do tend to

Answers:

And? You chose that. You chose to drink. Now you're here complaining about what you personally chose? Please.

What's a "unit? Do not worry about blurred red vision. Your liver failure, ulcers, .pancreatic damage and possible wet brain, Seek Help or take up drugs. You are Over-uniting.

I quit drinking by binging. Yes I would purposely drink too much over a 2 day period so I wouldn't drink for a few days. Well I increasingly spaced it out through time and in about 6 months I quit, but for a time I would still go and buy these little mixed drinks in a can and I would put it into the trunk of my car. Recently as I cleaned out the trunk of my car I found 11 unopened cans in paper bags from at least 4 years ago.
Stop before you have to give it up for life. Now I have a glass of wine with my wife from time to time and I'm fine.

It is very possible. My daughter was that way when she started university but by the time she was 21 she could not tolerate it that much any more. She pretty well quite having more than 1-2 drinks a month by the age 24.

My point is that your body may be rebelling against this behavior and you may have to make a big reduction in your alcohol consumption

By the way, having a habit id drinking heavily on weekends over a long period is still a form of alcoholism. It may not be physical but psychological but it is still alcoholism.
